Calculating Collaborations with Other Consultants

Sometimes we collaborate with another professional on some projects. Here is a template that will help you to calculate what percentage of the total fee belongs to which partner.

I first saw this model a good few years ago developed by Dr. Alan Weiss. I've just put the thing into a spreadsheet for rapid calculation for my own use and to share.

The project is split up to three equal parts

Client acquisition (1/3 of total fee)
Methodology (1/3 of total fee)
Delivery of service (1/3 of total fee)

Step 1: In cell D8 enter the total fee.

Step 2: In cell D10 enter what percentage of client acquisition your partner did.

Step 3: In cell E10 enter what percentage of applied methodology belongs to your partner.

Step 4: In cell F10 enter what percentage of delivery your partner did.

That is all, folks.
